The Star Flower quilt block is a unique utilization of an age-old favorite needlecraft – puffing portions of a quilt. Raised and puffed petals of a flower against a star make this quilt worthy of sewing.
Completed quilt measures about 89 1/2” x 104”. There are 6 blocks across and 7 vertical 12” blocks separated by 2 1/2” strips. The 2 1/2” strips are all around the outer edge also. A pattern is not given for the divider strip but it is the same width as F (2 1/2”) and 12 1/2” long. Cut 56.
Cut the number of pieces indicated on each pattern. Sew pieces together, sewing circle (A) in place last – this allows each petal (C) to be gathered the necessary amount.
