Road to California Quilt Block
The Road to California quilt block is a reminder of the early
railroads and the gold rush. This is an easy quilt to make and
looks like an old quilt if done in unbleached muslin and gold
prints.
This quilt also looks good as a scrap quilt - done in your scrap pieces of fabric, setting the fabric with alternate plain squares to the dark band with triangle floows diagonally across the quilt in one way and the smaller dark squares do the same thing in the opposite direction.
These quilt blocks work nicely as 12" squares (diagram not allowing for seams) and if the quilt is 6 blocks by 7 blocks, the finished quilt will be 72 x 84".
