Old Maids Puzzle Quilt Pattern
This Old Maids Puzzle four-square quilt block is really easier
than it looks. Made with two, three, four or even five fabrics,
this pattern is certainly versatile.
Made from squares and triangles, the pieces are stitched
into four square sub-units that are then put together to make a
four-square block. These sub-units can be pieced in a number of
different manners to alter the main motif.
The quilt blocks can be put
together to form a continuous pattern or can be interspersed
with plain blocks for an entirely different look. Narrow banding
can also be used to accent the blocks, or the entire quilt can
be set on the diagonal.
