Crossroads Quilt Block

As refreshing as a Sunday drive in the sun kissed country. The Crossroads quilt block responds favorably to any combination of colors. Even the use of miscellaneous prints will present interesting roads. Finished quilt measures 90” x 105”.

Only two pattern pieces are used throughout and the diagrams indicate the way each of two blocks are formed and then joined to insure the continuation of roads crossing over entire quilt. Block 1 has white triangles in each corner with the prints forming a square in the center. Block 2 displays an hourglass effect of white triangles.

There are 30 blocks and 22 half blocks, plus the 4 quarter blocks for each corner.

Now you are ready to piece strips of squares which are sewn around the blocks. Work from diagram for block 1 and 2 taking care to note the different sequence of blocks along opposite corners while print squares grace the other opposites.

Sew blocks together, 5 across and 6 vertical, plus 1/2 block each side and top and bottom. Finish edge with binding.
