For Quilt – Approximately 98” x 104”:
Cut 1298 4 1/2” squares from scraps of tie silks or cottons;
or
10 1/2 yards of striped tie silk or cotton, and
10 1/2 yards of plain tie silk or cotton for alternate triangles of stripe and plain, and
16 1/8 yards of sheet wadding or cotton flannel for 1298 4 inch squares to be used as lining.

How to Sew Units Together:

a. Apply a 4” square of wadding on top of quilt fabric; place the pattern directly over the wadding. With a medium to hot iron, press back the seam allowance over the wadding, thereby making a sewing guide line.

b. Fold in half diagonally, with sheet wadding inside; baste along open edges.

c. Quilt along the open sides, 3/8-inch in from the edge. Use contrasting thread and a short running stitch.

d. Place the edge of the triangles together and sew with an overcast stitch. Use four triangles to form a square.

e. Place the edges of squares together and sew with an overcast stitch.
