Cowboys Star Quilt Block

Quilters can add another welcome star pattern to their growing collection with the Cowboys Star quilt block. This won’t be as hard to make as it looks at first glance, as the pieces are not too small to sew quickly. Plain squares may be used between the pieced blocks, or make the entire quilt of “stars”, which produces a very elaborate all-over effect.

Allow extra for seams on all blocks.

Quilt Lining - Make the backing the same size as the top, unless you wish to use the edges of the backing as a binding. In which case, cut backing 2 1/2" larger all around, bring in over the front edges of the top and whip-stitch into place. Use fabric of the same quality as the top - a percale sheet that is soft and free of starch may be used.
