Album Quilt Pattern

This old-fashioned Album quilt pattern has been around for many, many years. It traditionally was a gift for an upcoming bride. Friends and family would each make a single quilt block and embroider her name in the center. The group would then gather together, piece and quilt the coverlet as a memory gift for the new bride.

The blocks are set together on the diagonal with alternating plain colored squares. The Album quilt pattern is generally banded with plain strips to complete the desired size.
