Double Four Patch Quilt Block Pattern
Double Four Patch patterns are the perfect beginner's project. This simple block can be used in many different combinations, and your fabric choices are unlimited.
Clean out your stash, and make a multi-colored patchwork quilt or choose coordinating fabrics for a subtle look.
The easiest quilt to make is the four-patch quilt and it is the one little girls in early times made as their first piecing task. This quilt is a double four-patch and is planned for a crib quilt. If you are tackling your first quilt, this would be the one… the blocks are easy to piece and a crib size is small.
Use a tiny print or solid in blue or pink and white or the color of your choice.
The first four-patch consists of alternate white and print 2 inch squares. Two of these are joined to 4 inch white squares to make the second four-patch and the complete 8 inch block. A crib quilt can be made with 7 rows of 5 blocks each.
Add a narrow 1 inch border of the print and your crib quilt will measure approximately 42 by 58 inches.
